Shipping Times and
Rates
Every effort will be made by the Burly Bear to ship
purchased products as quickly as possible to the customer. However, different factors will affect the
actual handling, shipping and delivery time.
These factors include the distance, the availability of the purchased
product and the delivery method used to ship the item(s).
Deliveries are made on normal business days of Monday
through Friday. Please keep
in mind that a one or two day delivery time does not always mean that your
order will arrive in one or two days.
Product availability, processing time and actual shipping times must
also be factored into the total shipping time.
You will be notified when a purchase has been backordered. All available items ordered will be shipped even if an item has been backordered.
Total shipping time includes the time required to process
the order (usually no more than three business days) and the actual
transportation time once the order has been filled and turned over to the
shipping company for delivery. The
method used to ship the purchase will also vary the total shipping time. The Burly Bear routinely ships via ground
transportation and uses the three major parcel carriers; United Parcel Service
(UPS), Fedex and the United States Postal Service (USPS). You
can specify a faster delivery method as detailed below for which an additional
cost will apply.

The shipping rates identified below apply only to those in
stock items shipped within the contiguous United Sates via ground
transportation or Expedited shipping.

Alaska and Hawaii
As specified, different shipping times and rates will apply
for those items being shipped to Alaska or Hawaii. The following fees will apply:

Special Order Items
Special Order items such as furniture are defined as overweight
(over 150 pounds) or oversize merchandise.
These items are shipped by freight carrier. Deliveries require someone over the age of 18
to be available to sign for the delivery.
Shipments made by freight will not include inside delivery or
setup. The customer will be responsible
for all shipping and restocking fees if the delivery is refused. Those costs will be subtracted from any
refund that may be due the customer. Cost
for shipping Special Order items will be determined by the weight, size and
distance and the customer will be advised of all costs before shipment. The customer should inspect all items shipped
via freight carrier before acceptance and signature. Signing for a freight delivery signifies that
the product has been received in satisfactory condition. Special Order merchandise is only available
for those customers living inside the contiguous United States.
Customized Items
The customer is responsible for all customized or
personalized items ordered. The
exception being those items that are damaged during shipping for which the
policies on return items will apply.
Special Conditions
The Burly Bear will not ship merchandise to PO Boxes. A residence address must be provided.
Gift Certificates
All gift certificate purchases will be shipped via the U.S.
Postal Service at no cost to the customer. Burly Bear gift certificates do not expire and
there are no fees assessed for non-use.
Gift Cards
The Burly Bear does not offer gift cards. The reason is that many gift cards now have
deadline dates for their use or they are assessed a fee for specified time
periods of non-use. Every year billions
of dollars in gift card purchasing power is lost because of a variety of
reasons ranging from the cards being lost to the cards being devalued over time
by the issuer.
